SFMobiliteit: The Social Fund for the Dutch Taxi Industry
SFMobiliteit manages the Social Fund for the Dutch mobility sector, including the taxi industry. Taxi drivers can access free e-learning, while employers can apply for ESF subsidies for training and development.
What is SFMobiliteit?
SFMobiliteit is the social fund for the Dutch mobility industry. Funded by employers and employees in the taxi and mobility sector, its mission is to support the labour market within the industry. SFMobiliteit also manages the Social Fund for Taxi (Sociaal Fonds Taxi — SFT).
What Does SFMobiliteit Offer Taxi Drivers?
1. Free E-Learning
Via sfmobiliteit.nl, taxi drivers have access to a wide range of free e-learning modules, including:
- Dealing with aggression and unwanted passenger behaviour
- Customer service and communication skills
- Wheelchair transport and passenger assistance (Code VVR)
- Eco-driving and fuel efficiency
- Basic first aid for drivers
These modules count towards the mandatory annual training day under the CLA for Care Transport and Taxi.
2. ESF Subsidies for Employers
Taxi companies that want to upskill their staff can apply for an ESF subsidy (European Social Fund) via SFMobiliteit. The subsidy covers up to 40% of training and examination costs.
3. Labour Market Policy
SFMobiliteit implements sector-wide labour market policy: research into driver shortages, promoting new entrants and supporting career changers and re-entrants into the workforce.
Who Funds SFMobiliteit?
SFMobiliteit is funded through mandatory employer contributions in the taxi sector (imposed via the CLA). As an employee, you automatically benefit from the fund's services — e-learning and other free services come at no personal cost.
