New CLA for Care Transport and Taxi 2025-2027: Wage Increases and Pension Changes

The new Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) for Care Transport and Taxi took effect on 1 January 2025. Drivers and employers face significant wage increases and pension adjustments. We outline the most important changes.

What Changes Under the CLA for Care Transport and Taxi 2025-2027?

On 1 January 2025, the new Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) for the Taxi Industry and Care Transport came into force. This CLA covers the period 2025 through 2027 and brings significant changes for both drivers and employers.

Wage Increases: 5% in 2025 and 3.5% in 2026

The most prominent change is the wage increase. From 1 January 2025, wages rise by 5% — a significant boost that directly improves drivers' purchasing power.

A year later, from 1 January 2026, a second increase of 3.5% follows. Combined, wages rise by nearly 8.5% over two years.

What Does This Mean in Euros?

For a driver on the CLA minimum wage, the 5% increase amounts to roughly €80–€120 gross per month more, depending on working schedule and region. Discuss the exact impact with your employer.

Changes to Pension Contributions

In addition to wage increases, pension contributions have been adjusted. The pension fund for the taxi industry — Vervoer — has revised its premium distribution. The employer contribution increases slightly, while the employee contribution stays broadly the same or marginally decreases for drivers in the lowest wage brackets.

What Must Employers Do?

  • Update payroll administration from 1 January 2025
  • Issue new employment contracts or addenda reflecting the new wage scales
  • Update pension administration to match new premium percentages
  • Inform employees about the changes

Compliance Checks

The Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport (ILT) and trade unions actively monitor whether taxi companies comply with CLA conditions. Companies that fail to implement wage increases risk fines and employment law proceedings.
